Romeo birthday happen on today 9th April which is opposite of mine, 4th September. Well early in the morning my mum cooked the noodles with red eggs which normally ate during birthday. In the afternoon I suggest to visit the new shopping mall open nearby our house, Tampines 1.

Tampines 1 is huge and new, I mean like high tech plus environment friendly. The concept is stay green stay healthy. The roof top were empty and plants can be find anywhere. It is a shopping mall with saving the world idea. Overall the shopping were like a mini Orchard which sell different kind of cloths and there are many Japan store. Many things look expensive, but believe me in Tampines you better not sell too expensive, because we won't purchase. I live there and also work there before, we were damn cheap with many population. Our demand confirm will make you come out with promotion or offer, if not you might need to close down due to high rental fees. That apply mostly on clothing, but food will survive very well maybe because it is a necessary product that you have no choice.
The top floor were filled with store for rich people or girls I guess. There are Spa, Gym, Salon, Arcade, toys but NO CINEMA. Personally I think the bottom were to attach Tampines Mall and the top were to attack Century Square, one of the reason due to Century have the second floor for girls only. In terms of Tampines affected or not, I think more or less yes but not all. Especially for the food department, TM have more choice of food than T1. Nevertheless T1 can win by their fashion.

One of the famous store were the Uniqlo Japan number one store. It is crazy, need to queue up before entering and it is like over rated. Personally I think their promotion and marketing are powerful. They are like Canon who make use of Number One record to fight with the market, and they also have the vibrant red to attract our attention. Marketing and Promotion are powerful because they are trying to make consumer think their product are special, there also limit the consumer to a certain amount where the rest need to queue.

From my own words, I never hear of it until they start to put on the billboard and open in Tampines 1. One amazing marketing technique I observe was their magazine which was given out during the queuing up period. Put yourself as a visitor to visit the new shopping mall, you don't know about the store and you found people queuing up like getting free items so Singaporean confirm want to check it out but they don't want to queue so they try looking into the store. Here comes the staff, giving out magazine and we confirm will take one and see. Follow on the message being announce was the cloth in this magazine are NEW and KEEP THIS FOR TWO MONTH because it will ONLY ARRIVE IN TWO MONTH TIME. So most people will carry it around the shopping mall until their reach home. But do you know that you were actually helping them to promote their store due to word of mouth technique. It is like the same thing as you carry a plastic bag, you are like a tool for them, FREE MOBILE BILLBOARD. You see, now I am also helping them to promote their company, this is the power when you get big.
